Today is my first working day of the year, so that’s when the goals really start to come into action, right? In my blog post a couple of days ago, I mentioned the Walk 1000 Miles campaign. Walk 1000 Miles is a campaign that encourages people to get out and get moving with the aim of walking 1000 miles throughout the year.
You can do the Walk 1000 Miles challenge for fitness, for fun, or for charity (or all three of course). I am taking part in Walk 1000 Miles for fitness, and also to give me the opportunity to raise money for a charity that I am hoping to build a real relationship that I can help in the future.
My mum suffers from a whole number of illnesses but two that really affect her are Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The Crohn’s has now completely killed my mum’s pancreas and we’re waiting to have tests to see if it’s taking over any other organs. I don’t feel like there’s enough light shed on Crohn’s & Colitis at all. I’d have never heard of them it wasn’t for my mum but they are serious life-complicating illnesses and that’s why I will be walking for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
Crohn’s & Colitis UK is the leading charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The charity’s mission is to work with all those affected by all forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease to achieve a better quality of life, improve services, and ultimately find a cure. You can find out more about their amazing work here.
I have set a target to raise £1000 for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, which I know may seem a bit ambitous but thought £1 per mile seemed fitting.
Thank you for reading and I really hope I can depend on you to donate,
