As I mentioned in my introduction post, I’m typically pretty poor at blogging. I just never really know what to say, so I’ve decided to turn the attention of the blog to a subject that I’d like to think I know a lot about, something that I’ve had a passion for since I was knee-high, and something that I’ve written a lot about in the past: music. The blog will still feature some lifestyle aspects, but only when I really feel like I have something to say, there’s nothing worse for me than having to force myself to write something just for the sake of writing it (like last week’s post).

So I’ve come up with this idea of each Saturday (alongside other posts), sharing with you five songs that I’ve been loving that week. As it’s the first edition, some of the songs are a bit older, but they’re some of my favourite songs right now. I love discovering new talent and new tracks so if there’s somebody you think I need to check out, please do let me know.

ALMA – ‘Dye My Hair’

ALMA is an artist that I discovered thanks to Spotify and after hearing ‘Dye My Hair’ on a playlist a few weeks back, I’ve become hooked. It was really great to hear her get a play on Radio 1 this week. I can’t wait to hear for more.

Zayn and Taylor Swift – ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)’

I was really late with this one, especially being the Zayn fan that I am. Admittedly, it took me a couple of listens to “get it” but I’m now finding myself go back to the song multiple times per day.

Naughty Boy Feat. Kyla and Popcaan – ‘Should’ve Been Me’

Another one that I’m really late with. I remember hearing this and really liking it upon release but quickly forgetting about it. Since radio airplay’s picked up, it’s been stuck in my head a lot more, but I can’t help but think they’ve missed a massive trick by not releasing this in the summer.

M.O Feat. Kent Jones – ‘Not In Love’

I am such a huge fan of M.O. I’ve been rooting for them since I saw them support Little Mix on their Salute Tour back in 2014 and was so happy when they got their first Top 10 hit with ‘Who Do You Think Of?’ last year. I really hope ‘Not In Love’ can repeat that success for them.

Ed Sheeran – ‘Shape of You’

OBVIOUSLY an Ed Sheeran song would appear here and, just like seemingly the rest of the UK, ‘Shape of You’ is my favourite of his two new tracks. I have quite the love/hate relationship with Ed’s music and find some of his songs terribly overrated but I’m currently really enjoying this track.
